Elio Perrone Bigaro

Bigaro is a unique wine made by the Perrone family in Piedmont’s Asti region. In this area, elegant frizzante dessert wines have been made since the 1800s: fruity and with low enough alcohol to make a great lunch wines for thirsty farmers! This is a unique blend of Brachetto, a local red grape, and Moscato. The resulting wine is called Bigaro – named for the Piemontese dialect description of the color. Moscato adds aromatics and lift while Brachetto brings the luscious red fruit. This delightful wine is one you can serve to anyone and is also quite versatile: great with many desserts (or as a liquid dessert by itself!), but also a beautiful accompaniment to an appetizer of Prosciutto and Melon.
