Join us for an extraordinary evening celebrating the visionary winemaking of Greg Brewer, Wine Enthusiast’s 2020 Winemaker of the Year and the driving force behind Brewer-Clifton. With a career spanning over three decades, Brewer has dedicated himself to showcasing the terroir of Sta. Rita Hills, crafting world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that captures the essence of this renowned region. His commitment to minimal intervention winemaking allows the land to speak through every bottle, creating wines of purity, elegance, and undeniable character. This exclusive tasting experience offers the opportunity to explore a lineup of Brewer-Clifton’s acclaimed Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs and gain insight into the philosophy of a true pioneer in California winemaking.

Founded in 1996, Brewer-Clifton wines are a reflection of the geographic, geologic and climatic uniqueness of California’s Sta. Rita Hills appellation in Santa Barbara County. Founder and Winemaker Greg Brewer has spent the entirety of his three-decade career dedicated to crafting cool-climate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from this finite stretch of land. Brewer-Clifton was born from Greg Brewer’s vision to produce world class wines from California’s Sta. Rita Hills appellation. Focusing on the Burgundian roots of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Brewer pays homage to France while forging an independent style that is uniquely Californian. The resulting wines embrace the power, pedigree and richness of Sta. Rita Hills that have become the trademark style of Brewer-Clifton.

Raised in Los Angeles, Brewer went to University of California, Santa Barbara, for college, and was working as a French instructor when he picked up a weekend gig in the tasting room at Santa Barbara Winery. He immediately realized that wine would be his career path, and was soon working in the cellar. In 1995, he cofounded Brewer-Clifton with his friend Steve Clifton, and focused on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the hills between Buellton and Lompoc, which would eventually become the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. Brewer-Clifton quickly won accolades for being one of the earliest brands to showcase single-vineyard bottlings rather than regional blends.

In 2017, two years after Clifton left the brand, Brewer-Clifton was sold to Jackson Family Wines. That deal allowed Brewer to stop his many consulting gigs around the Sta. Rita Hills and again focus on the Brewer-Clifton wines, which he makes in Lompoc.

Don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in the passion, precision, and legacy of Sta. Rita Hills with one of its most influential ambassadors.
